After working his way up in his family's winery Billaud-Simone (since 1815!), Samuel is now making top-class, minimal intervention chardonnay under his own name, and is poised to be one of the great names of Chablis. Top critic Neal Martin even said: “We should see him...at the top of Chablis producers alongside...Raveneau and Vincent Dauvissat.” [That's basically the Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan of Chablis] I love all levels of Samuel's wines, and this is a dynamite entry-level Chablis from a future legend of Burgundy. Citrus, green apple, chalk, and light floral notes with mouthwatering salinity just screaming to be enjoyed with shellfish.
